We’re looking for a warm, professional and intuitive Guest Services Assistant to join our friendly Front of House team at The Fish Hotel — one of Farncombe Estate’s award-winning hotels, set within our beautiful hillside woodland above Broadway. The Fish is all about relaxed, feel‑good luxury … where guests come to switch off, reconnect with nature and enjoy great food, fresh air and thoughtful hospitality.

About the Role

Reporting to the Reception Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring every guest receives a warm welcome and a seamless stay. You’ll be one of the first faces guests meet, setting the tone for their stay with genuine warmth, confidence and care. From arrival to departure, you’ll help ensure every experience feels effortless, personal and memorable. This is a varied and hands‑on role, supporting both the front of house and housekeeping teams. You will assist with guest arrivals and departures, handle requests, transport luggage, and help deliver the personal and anticipatory service that our guests expect. From greeting guests and sharing local recommendations to delivering room items or assisting around the estate, you will help create experiences that are personal, memorable and effortless.

What We’re Looking For

  • We’re searching for someone who is passionate about hospitality and takes pride in delivering outstanding guest service.
  • You will ideally:
    • Be friendly, professional and naturally welcoming
    • Enjoy working in a team and supporting colleagues across departments
    • Be proactive and able to anticipate guest needs
    • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
    • Have good local knowledge or an interest in learning about the area
    • Be able to stay calm and solution‑focused when handling guest queries or concerns
    • Prior hospitality experience is helpful but not essential – a positive attitude and willingness to learn are most important

The Details

  • £13.45 per hour (rising to £13.65 after one year) plus tips
  • Meals on duty and uniform provided
  • 40 hours per week across 5 days (including weekends)
