Farnborough International is a globally recognised brand, famous for its pioneering spirit in delivering world class Airshows and hosting events on site with 23,000sqm of flexible event space. Farnborough International is looking to support an Event Management student in enhancing their employability skills in a professional training placement.
The student will primarily support the experienced Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre team in delivering events across our two purpose-built venues, Hall 1, a 20,000sqm exhibition and conference centre, and Hall 5, a 3000sqm blank canvas exclusive hire venue. Whilst working within the venue team, the student will also benefit from the opportunity to spend time with the other Farnborough International teams responsible for delivering the world-famous Farnborough International Airshow. These include Aerospace Ops, Aerospace Sales, Customer Experience, Catering, Health and Safety, Finance, HR, IT, Marketing, PR and Comms, Sponsorship, Venue Facilities, Venue Logistics and Venue Sales. As well as working alongside the Farnborough International teams, the student will have the opportunity to network with the wider event industry.
This candidate demonstrates strong organisational abilities and can confidently manage multiple tasks at once. They communicate clearly with colleagues, clients, suppliers, and senior stakeholders, adapting their style to suit different audiences and situations. Currently in their third year of an Event Management degree, they bring up-to-date academic knowledge, industry awareness, and practical insight into event planning and delivery. Personable and a strong team player, they are driven by quality and exceptional service, with a flexible approach to working hours in line with the demands of the events industry. They excel under pressure, meeting tight deadlines with quick thinking, adaptability, and excellent attention to detail. With strong time-management skills, a valid driving licence enabling travel to venues and suppliers, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, they are well-equipped to support successful event delivery.
Annual salary is between Β£21,200 and Β£24,800. 12 month paid placement from 2nd September 2026 to the 31st August 2027. Full time, 5 out of 7 based on a rota system, 37.5 hours per week. Benefits include free onsite parking, 28 days annual leave and full staff uniform.
