This is a great opportunity to support our learners working both in the College Library and Learner Services. Working as part of a team you will be providing library support to learners and staff including supporting learners' understanding of academic writing and research skills as well as more traditional library assistant tasks. You will need a can-do attitude and will be expected to get involved in a variety of different services to support our learners, from running enrichment activities to helping with enrolments. You will be tasked with promoting study skills services and providing workshops and 1:1 sessions on referencing and library skills as required. Moreover, the role involves direct interaction with students and staff, managing learner behaviour, and contributing to community-building activities within the college.

Responsibilities

  • Support learners working in the College Library and Learner Services.
  • Provide library support to learners and staff, including academic writing and research skills support.
  • Run enrichment activities and help with enrolments.
  • Promote study skills services.
  • Provide workshops and 1:1 sessions on referencing and library skills.
  • Interact with students and staff, manage learner behaviour, and contribute to community-building activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a library, college or office environment.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated individual who can engage with FE students.
  • Eye for detail and strong communication and administrative skills.
  • Can-do attitude.
  • Capability to drive to Farnborough site and visit Fleet and Aldershot sites when necessary.
