Farnborough College of Technology (FCoT) is seeking an exceptional Director of Finance and Corporate Services (DFCS) to join its Senior Leadership Team at a pivotal point in the College's development. Now in the fourth year of its Sustainable Transformations Strategy (STS) 2032, FCoT is building on strong momentum and is seeking a senior leader with the credibility, capability, and experience to play a critical role in the next phase of its journey.
Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will bring a proven track record as a qualified accountant, combined with the strategic leadership skills required to oversee a broad corporate services portfolio, including Finance, Estates, and Technology.
- Experience within the Further Education sector, particularly an understanding of DfE funding and compliance mechanisms, is highly desirable; however, strong candidates from the wider public sector with the relevant knowledge and capability to perform effectively from day one will also be welcomed.

Qualifications
- Proven track record as a qualified accountant.
- Experience leading Finance, Estates and Technology functions; strategic oversight of a broad corporate services portfolio.
- Experience in the Further Education sector with understanding of DfE funding and compliance mechanisms is highly desirable; strong candidates from the wider public sector with relevant knowledge will also be considered.
Safeguarding and Compliance
The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment. Positions within the College will involve contact with young people and vulnerable adults. Post-holders will be obliged to demonstrate and maintain their suitability to work with young people and vulnerable adults. This will include a requirement to undertake an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, in addition to referencing and qualification checks.
The College complies fully with the DBS Code of Practice regarding the correct handling, storage, retention and disposal of Disclosures and Disclosure information, and undertakes not to discriminate unfairly against any subject of a disclosure on the basis of a conviction or other information revealed. The post may involve unsupervised access to children and vulnerable adults and will be exempt from certain provisions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
