Are you a proactive Health & Safety professional who enjoys making a real difference across diverse operational environments? We are working with one of Yorkshire’s most established and respected businesses to recruit a Group Health & Safety Advisor, offering the opportunity to influence safety standards across multiple UK sites and business units. This is a highly visible role where you'll work closely with operational teams, providing practical guidance, driving continuous improvement, and helping create safer, smarter ways of working across the Group.

Location: Hull HQ (with regular travel across UK sites)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out site audits, inspections and compliance reviews and recommending practical improvements.
  • Supporting accident, incident and near-miss investigations, helping prevent repeat issues.
  • Preparing and reviewing risk assessments, COSHH, safe systems of work, RAMS and permits.
  • Helping each business stay compliant with fire safety, first aid, emergency planning and environmental requirements.
  • Monitoring KPIs, trends and action plans to identify improvement priorities.
  • Delivering toolbox talks, safety briefings and awareness activities.
  • Supporting external audits, regulatory visits, insurance inspections and contractor activity.
  • Building strong relationships with site teams, managers, contractors and external partners.

Skills & Experience:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience in a dedicated Health & Safety role, ideally within an operational environment.
  • Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and environmental compliance.
  • Experience with audits, inspections, incident investigations, risk assessments, COSHH, RAMS and safe systems of work.
  • Confident communicating and building trust with stakeholders at all levels, offering practical advice and constructively challenging poor practice where needed.
  • Highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Approachable, professional and solutions-focused, with good attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
  • Candidates must have a permanent Right to Work in the UK. Please note, our client cannot offer visa sponsorship for this position.

Desirable but not essential: IOSH membership, ISO knowledge, multi-site experience or working towards NEBOSH Diploma/equivalent.
