We are looking for a reliable, practical relief worker to assist on a 200-acre diversified ex-dairy farm where the yard has been converted into industrial units. The role is varied and best suited to someone with a strong farming background who enjoys working independently. This is an unusual and varied role – ideal for the right person who can turn their hand to many tasks.
Key Tasks
- Fencing (barbed wire and sheep fencing to protect new hedging)
- Hedge planting to meet SFI requirements
- Cultivations (approx. 50 acres of bird seed crops)
- General farm and estate maintenance
- Building maintenance (gutters, drains, basic repairs)
- Basic machinery maintenance
Desirable Skills
- Spraying certificate (PA1/PA2) – otherwise spraying may be contracted
- Welding
- Digger / excavator operation
- General mechanical ability
The Right Person
- Farming or agricultural background preferred
- Comfortable working independently most of the time
- Practical and versatile
- Friendly and professional around industrial yard tenants
- Able to take initiative and solve problems
