We are looking for a reliable, practical relief worker to assist on a 200-acre diversified ex-dairy farm where the yard has been converted into industrial units. The role is varied and best suited to someone with a strong farming background who enjoys working independently. This is an unusual and varied role – ideal for the right person who can turn their hand to many tasks.

Key Tasks

  • Fencing (barbed wire and sheep fencing to protect new hedging)
  • Hedge planting to meet SFI requirements
  • Cultivations (approx. 50 acres of bird seed crops)
  • General farm and estate maintenance
  • Building maintenance (gutters, drains, basic repairs)
  • Basic machinery maintenance

Desirable Skills

  • Spraying certificate (PA1/PA2) – otherwise spraying may be contracted
  • Welding
  • Digger / excavator operation
  • General mechanical ability

The Right Person

  • Farming or agricultural background preferred
  • Comfortable working independently most of the time
  • Practical and versatile
  • Friendly and professional around industrial yard tenants
  • Able to take initiative and solve problems
