We are working with a progressive, large-scale farming business looking to recruit a Skilled Operator to join their established team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid arable experience, or a capable operator looking to broaden their skillset across both arable and/or vegetable production.

The Business

The farm operates across approximately 1,600 hectares growing a diverse rotation of over 20 crop types, including cereals, oilseeds, sugar beet, and vegetable crops such as brassicas. With a strong focus on early and winter production, the farm benefits from a unique climate that allows for year-round harvesting. Sustainability is also a key priority, with initiatives in place around biodiversity net gain and environmental stewardship.

The Role

You will play a key role in day-to-day field operations, working within a structured team and reporting structure. Key responsibilities include:

  • Drilling
  • Relief spraying
  • Combine operation during harvest
  • General cultivations and fieldwork
  • Supporting vegetable operations where required

There is a strong team culture, and you'll be working alongside experienced operators as well as helping support trainees.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience in arable and/or vegetable operations
  • Is confident operating modern machinery
  • Ideally holds spraying certificates (PA1/PA2)
  • Has a proactive and team-oriented approach
  • Is capable of working to a high standard with attention to detail

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience with irrigation systems
  • Exposure to vegetable or mixed cropping systems
