Job description

The job will entail assisting the senior stockperson with the daily routine, plus any of the following:

• Husbandry and medication Vaccinations Movements Selection Cleaning and disinfecting of pens and equipment Assistance with record keeping and day-to-day administration Maintenance jobs

Person specifications

• Pig experience is preferred but not essential; on-the-job training will be provided
• Must be enthusiastic with a good work ethic
• Must have the highest standards of pig health and welfare

Salary

Salary: competitive doe

• 31 days holiday per year, including bank holidays (pro-rata)

Hours

• Part-time: a minimum of two days per week, 08:00 17:00, but may vary; days tbd
• Working every other weekend: hours would be approximately between 08:00 12:00
• Cover holidays where possible

Working conditions

• The location is Bedfordshire, MK45
• Accommodation is not available. Candidates must commute to MK45
• Because of the nature of our production system, the candidate must have no contact with other pigs while working here
• Our client has a strict policy that anyone entering the pig unit must be free of pig contact for 72 hours, so please do not apply if you are in regular contact with other pigs
• Currently, we can only accept applications from UK or EU nationals with the right to work in the UK
