LOCATION: Shawsholm Farm, Closeburn, Dumfries

JOB TYPE: Full Time

The Farm:

  • 400 Friesian/Jersey-cross cows
  • Block-calving, grass-based dairy system
  • Youngstock reared on farm
  • Located between Dumfries and Thornhill

The Role:

  • Working alongside the Farm Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering excellent animal health and welfare standards.
  • Achieving key farm performance targets.
  • Supporting and coordinating the relief team.
  • Working with stakeholders and contractors.
  • Making decisions around grassland management and grazing performance.
  • Helping drive continuous improvement across the farm.

What We're Looking For:

  • Have practical experience in grassland management.
  • Have experience leading or supervising people.
  • Enjoy working within a block-calving system.
  • Be passionate about grass-based dairy farming.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Hold a foot-trimming qualification.
