Membership Relations Manager - Rural & Agricultural Sector

Location of the Job:

South East England - Hybrid Working

The role will combine office-based and remote working, with a requirement to attend the office at least 3 days per week.

Regular travel throughout the South East region will also be required.

Salary & Benefits Package:

  • Β£28,000 - Β£34,000 basic salary

The successful candidate will take responsibility for developing and maintaining strong relationships with an established membership base across the South East.

This is a varied, relationship-focused position combining account management, customer engagement, membership retention, CRM management, data analysis and stakeholder relationship management.

You will play an important role in ensuring members receive a high-quality service throughout their membership journey, while helping to strengthen engagement, improve retention and demonstrate the ongoing value of membership.

The position would suit somebody who genuinely enjoys building relationships and working with a wide variety of people.

Previous agricultural or rural sector experience would be advantageous; however, candidates with strong account management, membership or customer relationship experience and a genuine interest in the rural sector are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop positive, long-term relationships with members across the South East.
  • Act as a key point of contact, providing a professional and personable service throughout the membership journey.
  • Support member onboarding, engagement, retention and renewal activities.
  • Identify opportunities to increase member engagement with available services and benefits.
  • Build a strong understanding of individual member requirements and ensure they receive value from their membership.
  • Produce and analyse membership, engagement and retention reports.
  • Use data to identify trends, opportunities and areas requiring further engagement.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information within the company CRM/database.
  • Gather member feedback and market insight to support the continued development of services.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across regional, commercial and wider internal teams.
  • Represent the organisation professionally at rural events, agricultural shows, meetings and member activities throughout the South East.
  • Develop a strong understanding of current issues affecting rural businesses, landowners and the wider agricultural sector.

The Successful Candidate:

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience within account management, membership management, customer service, customer success or relationship management.
  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • The confidence to communicate effectively with a diverse range of customers, members and stakeholders.
  • A professional, personable and proactive approach.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Previous experience using a CRM or database system.
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to interpret customer or membership data.
  • An interest in the agricultural, rural, land-based or countryside sector.
  • The ability and willingness to develop your knowledge of issues affecting rural businesses and communities.
  • Flexibility to travel regularly throughout the South East.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • All applicants must hold an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role.

Some evening work and occasional overnight stays may be required due to events and meetings.
