We are looking to recruit a new shop manager for our shop in Mitcham, Merton, Greater London. This permanent full‑time position requires 45 hours a week across five days, with flexible availability including weekends.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example and get involved in day‑to‑day shop operations.
- Motivate and inspire the team to run an efficient shop and provide excellent service to customers.
- Recruit, induct and develop the team through coaching, mentoring and feedback, building a talent pipeline.
- Ensure customers are looked after, deliveries are processed quickly and shop routines are completed to maintain a safe, clean, tidy shop.
- Control key shop costs – shrinkage, waste and payroll – to meet all KPI’s.
- Report directly to the area manager.
- Meet standards in customer service, cash handling, health & safety, stock management, merchandising and presentation.
Qualifications
- Experience as a manager or assistant manager.
- A full driving licence is desirable; applicants without a licence but who meet all other criteria are welcome to apply.
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to motivate people in a busy environment.
- People‑oriented, trustworthy and reliable; able to build strong working relationships.
- Strong organisational and financial control skills.
- Ability to complete an employment verification check and a Basic DBS (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check if successful.
