We are looking to recruit a new shop manager for our shop in Mitcham, Merton, Greater London. This permanent full‑time position requires 45 hours a week across five days, with flexible availability including weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and get involved in day‑to‑day shop operations.
  • Motivate and inspire the team to run an efficient shop and provide excellent service to customers.
  • Recruit, induct and develop the team through coaching, mentoring and feedback, building a talent pipeline.
  • Ensure customers are looked after, deliveries are processed quickly and shop routines are completed to maintain a safe, clean, tidy shop.
  • Control key shop costs – shrinkage, waste and payroll – to meet all KPI’s.
  • Report directly to the area manager.
  • Meet standards in customer service, cash handling, health & safety, stock management, merchandising and presentation.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a manager or assistant manager.
  • A full driving licence is desirable; applicants without a licence but who meet all other criteria are welcome to apply.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to motivate people in a busy environment.
  • People‑oriented, trustworthy and reliable; able to build strong working relationships.
  • Strong organisational and financial control skills.
  • Ability to complete an employment verification check and a Basic DBS (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check if successful.
