We are looking to recruit a trainee shop manager for our shop in Swansea. We offer a permanent full‑time position of 45 hours per week working a variety of shifts, 5 days per week.
Hours and Pay
- 45 hours per week across 5 days.
- Pay £32,648 – £35,306 per annum.
- Shift flexibility throughout the week.
Training and Apprenticeship
- Initial training working alongside an experienced shop manager to develop practical retail management skills.
- Period running the shop with high support from the Area Manager.
- About 3‑6 months into training, take full responsibility for your own shop subject to a performance review while continuing to develop with area manager support.
- Work towards a Level 4 Retail Manager apprenticeship standard with Inspiro, the approved training provider.
- Support for upskilling in Maths and Communication if required.
- Completion of an independent end‑point assessment at the end of training.
Responsibilities
- Fully accountable for the shop, ensuring customers are looked after and shop routines are completed to maintain a safe, clean and tidy environment.
- Motivate and guide the team to be successful and efficient.
- Lead by example and assist with day‑to‑day tasks in a busy shop.
- Control key costs including payroll, shrinkage and waste.
- Meet standards in customer service, cash handling, health & safety, stock management, merchandising and presentation.
- Recruit, train and develop the team.
- Complete a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check if hired.
