Are you an experienced team leader or supervisor in retail, hospitality or another customer‑focused industry? Are you looking to progress further into a management role? If yes, this might be the opportunity for you.

We are looking to recruit a trainee shop manager for our shop in Swansea. We offer a permanent full‑time position of 45 hours per week working a variety of shifts, 5 days per week.

Hours and Pay

  • 45 hours per week across 5 days.
  • Pay £32,648 – £35,306 per annum.
  • Shift flexibility throughout the week.

Training and Apprenticeship

  • Initial training working alongside an experienced shop manager to develop practical retail management skills.
  • Period running the shop with high support from the Area Manager.
  • About 3‑6 months into training, take full responsibility for your own shop subject to a performance review while continuing to develop with area manager support.
  • Work towards a Level 4 Retail Manager apprenticeship standard with Inspiro, the approved training provider.
  • Support for upskilling in Maths and Communication if required.
  • Completion of an independent end‑point assessment at the end of training.

Responsibilities

  • Fully accountable for the shop, ensuring customers are looked after and shop routines are completed to maintain a safe, clean and tidy environment.
  • Motivate and guide the team to be successful and efficient.
  • Lead by example and assist with day‑to‑day tasks in a busy shop.
  • Control key costs including payroll, shrinkage and waste.
  • Meet standards in customer service, cash handling, health & safety, stock management, merchandising and presentation.
  • Recruit, train and develop the team.
  • Complete a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check if hired.
