We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. This is a permanent part-time position working a variety of shifts, with a minimum of 20 hours worked over 4 days each week, including weekends. Please note that this position requires you to be available for shifts starting early in the morning.
Pay & Benefits
- Pay: £10.10 – £12.31 per hour (age 16‑20: £10.10, age 21+: £12.31)

Responsibilities
- Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello.
- Help customers find the items they are looking for.
- Deliver fast and friendly service at the tills, offering help to pack and leaving a good impression with a friendly thank you and goodbye.
- Handle stock with care while working deliveries, quickly placing products into freezers and onto shelves ready for customers to buy.
- Work with the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep our shops safe, clean and tidy.
Qualifications
- A friendly, positive, hard‑working approach to work.
- Enjoy being busy, coping with a variety of tasks (deliveries, tills, shop floor, cleaning and stock rotation).
- Reliability, as you will be an important part of a small team and customers depend on you.
- Some flexibility with shifts; the rota is planned 3 weeks in advance but must accommodate team needs.
