We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. We offer a permanent part time position working a variety of shifts, with a minimum of 20 hours worked over 4 days from 7 each week, including weekends.
Hours, Pay & Benefits
- Hours: 20 hours across 4 days per week.
- Pay: £10.10 - £12.31 per hour (varies by age).
- Benefits: 6 weeks holiday, 15% staff discount, staff benefits package, and more.
The amount you will earn depends on your age:
- Ages 16-20 = £10.10 per hour
- Ages 21+ = £12.31 per hour
As a Retail Assistant you will:
- Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello.
- Help customers find the items they are looking for.
- Give a fast and friendly service at the tills, helping to pack and leaving a good impression with a friendly thank you and goodbye.
- Handle stock with care while working deliveries, quickly placing products into freezers and onto shelves for customers to buy.
- Work with the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep shops safe, clean and tidy.
You will need:
- A friendly, positive, hard-working approach to work.
- Enjoy being busy and flexible enough to jump between tasks such as deliveries, till work, assisting customers, cleaning and stock rotation.
- Reliability as you will be part of a small team; colleagues and customers will depend on you.
- Flexibility with shifts. Rota’s are planned three weeks in advance and commitments outside of work will be considered when planning shifts.
