Retail Assistant – Part Time, Evenings & Weekends

We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop in Peterlee, Durham. This permanent part‑time position requires a minimum of 8 hours worked over 2 days each week, with shifts on weekday evenings and all day on Saturday and Sunday. Availability for evenings and weekends is essential.

Hours & Pay

• Hours: 8 hours across 2 days per week
• Pay: £10.10 – £12.31 per hour (age based)

• Ages 16‑20: £10.10 per hour
• Ages 21+: £12.31 per hour

Responsibilities

• Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and hello.
• Help customers find the items they are looking for.
• Provide fast, friendly service at the tills, offer packing help, and leave a good impression with a friendly thank‑you and goodbye.
• Handle stock with care during deliveries, quickly placing products into freezers and onto shelves for customer purchase.
• Work with the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep the shop safe, clean, and tidy.
