We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop in Pontefract and offer a permanent part‑time position with a minimum of 16 hours per week spread over 4 days, including weekends.

Base Pay Range

• Hours: 16 hours across 4 days per week.
• Pay: £10.10 – £12.31 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello.
• Help customers find the items they are looking for.
• Provide fast and friendly service at the tills, always offering help to pack items and leaving a good impression with a friendly thank you and goodbye.
• Handle stock with care while working deliveries, quickly placing products into freezers and onto shelves ready for customers.
• Work with the team to complete the daily and weekly routines that keep our shop safe, clean and tidy.

Qualifications & Requirements

• A friendly, positive, hard‑working approach to work.
• Enjoy being busy with a variety of tasks, from delivering to serving on the till, helping customers on the shop floor, completing cleaning and stock rotation routines and more.
• Reliability: you are an important part of a small team and will give your best on each shift and not let the team down.
• A bit of flexibility when it comes to shifts; when others are off for holiday, you may need to cover slightly different hours. Rotas are planned three weeks in advance and your commitments outside of work will always be taken into consideration.
