We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop in Peterlee, Durham. This is a permanent part-time position with a minimum of 8 hours worked over 2 days a week, including weekends.

Hours: 8 hours per week across 2 days.

Pay:

  • Ages 16–20: £10.95 per hour.
  • Ages 21+: £12.81 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello.
  • Help customers find the items they are looking for.
  • Give fast and friendly service at the tills, offering help to pack and leaving a good impression with a friendly thank you and goodbye.
  • Handle stock with care while working deliveries, quickly placing products into freezers and onto shelves ready for customers to buy.
  • Work with the rest of the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep the shop safe, clean and tidy.

Requirements:

  • A friendly, positive, hard-working approach to work.
  • Enjoy being busy, switching between deliveries, till service, customer help, cleaning and stock rotation.
  • Be reliable, ensuring you are dependable for each shift and do not let the team down.
  • Show flexibility with shifts; rota’s are planned three weeks in advance and other commitments are considered.
  • Complete an Employment Verification check if successful and offered the advertised position.
