Are you an experienced team leader or supervisor in retail, hospitality or another customer‑focussed industry? Are you looking to progress further into a management role? If so, this might be the opportunity for you. We are recruiting a trainee shop manager for our new shop in Aylestone, Leicestershire (postcode: LE2 8TB). This is a permanent full‑time position (45 hours per week) with a variety of shifts, 5 days a week.
What does the training involve?
- Initial training period working alongside an experienced shop manager to develop practical retail management skills.
- Run the shop with high support from your Area Manager.
- Approximately 3‑6 months into training, you will take on full responsibility for your own shop (subject to performance review) while continuing to develop your management skills with support from your Area Manager.
- Work toward a Level 4 Retail Manager apprenticeship qualification with Inspiro, our approved training provider.
- Support with upskilling Maths and English (if required).
- Completion of an independent end‑point assessment at the end of your training.
This 18‑month training programme leads to permanent employment upon successful completion.
In return for your hard work and commitment, you will receive:
- A starting salary of £31,392.52, with a potential increase to £33,948.94 after 6 months, depending on progress and achievement of KPIs.

As one of our Trainee Shop Managers you will:
- Be fully accountable for your shop and ensure customers are looked after while shop routines maintain a safe, clean and tidy environment.
- Motivate and guide your team to be as successful and efficient as possible.
- Lead by example and get involved with day‑to‑day tasks in a busy shop.
- Control key costs including payroll, shrinkage and waste.
- Meet standards in customer service, cash handling, health & safety, stock management, merchandising and presentation.
- Take responsibility for recruitment, training and development of your team.
