We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop in Irvine, North Ayrshire. This is a permanent part‑time position working a variety of shifts, with a minimum of 16 hours over 4 days each week, including weekends. Please note that this position will require you to be available for shifts on weekday evenings and all day on Saturday and Sunday. It may not be suitable if you are not available at these times.
Hours and Pay
- Hours: 16 hours across 4 days per week.
- Pay: £10.95 per hour for ages 16‑20, £12.81 per hour for ages 21+.

Responsibilities
- Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello.
- Help customers find the items they are looking for.
- Give a fast and friendly service at the tills, offering help with packing and leaving a good impression with a friendly thank you and goodbye.
- Handle stock with care while working deliveries, quickly placing products into freezers and onto shelves ready for customers to buy.
- Work with the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep the shop safe, clean, and tidy.
Qualifications
- A friendly, positive, hard‑working approach to work.
- Enjoy being busy, able to jump from delivering to serving on the till, helping customers, and completing cleaning and stock rotation routines.
- Reliability – an important part of a small team, dependable on each shift.
- Flexibility with shifts; rota is planned three weeks in advance and commitments outside work are considered.
- Ability to complete an Employment Verification check if offered the position.
