Responsibilities:
- Support the manager as part of the management team to run the shop efficiently and provide excellent customer service.
- Take full responsibility for running the shop in the manager’s absence, ensuring customers are looked after, deliveries are processed, and shop routines are completed to maintain a safe, clean and tidy shop.
- Open and close the shop, handle cash, place orders and develop the team of retail assistants.
- Control operational costs including shrinkage, waste and payroll.
Requirements:
- Friendly, positive, hard-working approach to work.
- People skills – easy to get on with everyone and build strong relationships.
- Trustworthy and reliable, as your team and customers will depend on you.
- Experience as a supervisor, team leader or manager in retail or a similar industry is desirable, but open to those starting a retail management career.
- Completion of an Employment Verification check and a Basic DBS/Disclosure Scotland check (if successful and offered the position).
