We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Supervisor for our shop in Cardiff Ely. The role is a permanent full‑time position, 5 days per week, with a variety of shifts.
Hours, Pay & Benefits
- 35 hours per week, 5 days.
- Pay: £13.61 per hour, guaranteeing at least £476 per week.
- Benefits: 6 weeks holiday, 15% staff discount, staff benefits package (virtual GP, discounted services and products such as cinema tickets, gym memberships, days out and travel).
A Retail Skills (Management) Level 3 qualification. Great training and support, with opportunities for career progression.
Apprenticeship Involvement
- Work in a busy shop and learn how to be a great supervisor.
- Regular pre‑arranged visits from an assessor via Microsoft Teams.
- Regular completion of apprenticeship coursework.
- Completion of essential skills in communication and maths (if applicable).
- Assessment at the end of the 12‑month training.
Responsibilities
- Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello.
- Help customers find the items they are looking for.
- Give fast and friendly service at the tills, always offering help to pack and leaving a good impression with a friendly thank you and goodbye.
- Handle stock with care while working deliveries, quickly placing products into the freezers and onto shelves ready for customers.
- Work with the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep our shops clean and tidy.
- Open and close the shop, handle cash, place orders and support your manager in leading the team to run an efficient shop and provide great service to customers.

- Enjoy being busy with varied tasks, from deliveries to tills to organising the team.
- Reliable and dependable, as the team and customers will rely on you.
- A bit of flexibility with shifts, including covering for colleagues on leave.
- Ensure all work set by our apprenticeship provider is completed on time and to the best of your ability.
- Pass an Employment Verification check and a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check (Scotland) if successful before joining.
