Retail Assistant – Part Time, Evenings & Weekends

We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. This permanent part‑time position works a variety of shifts, with a minimum of 8 hours worked across 2 days per week, including weekends.

Hours: 8 hours across 2 days per week.

• Pay: £10.10 – £12.31 per hour (depending on age)

Availability: This position requires availability for shifts on weekday evenings and all day on Saturday and Sunday. It may not be suitable for you if you cannot work at these times.

Responsibilities

• Make all of our customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello.
• Help customers find the items they are looking for.
• Give a fast and friendly service at the tills, always offering help to pack and leaving a good impression with a friendly thank you and goodbye.
• Handle stock with care whilst working deliveries, quickly placing products into our freezers and onto our shelves ready for our customers to buy.
• Work with the rest of your team to complete the daily and weekly routines that keep our shops safe, clean and tidy.

Qualifications

• A friendly, positive, hardworking approach to work.
• Enjoy being busy; you will jump from deliveries to till work, to shop floor service, to cleaning and stock rotation.
• Reliable: a key part of a small team, dependability on each shift.
• Flexibility with shifts; rota planned three weeks in advance, commitments considered.
