We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. This permanent part‑time position requires a minimum of 8 hours over 2 days per week, including weekday evenings and all day on Saturdays and Sundays.
Hours: 8 hours across 2 days per week.
Pay: £10.10–£12.31 per hour (age dependent):
- Ages 16–20: £10.10 per hour
- Ages 21+: £12.31 per hour

Responsibilities:
- Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello.
- Help customers find the items they are looking for.
- Provide fast, friendly service at the tills, offering help to pack and ensuring a positive farewell.
- Handle stock with care while working deliveries, quickly placing products into freezers and onto shelves.
- Work with the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep shops safe, clean, and tidy.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- A friendly, positive, hard‑working approach to work.
- Ability to thrive in a busy environment, shifting between deliveries, till duties, and stock rotation.
- Reliability and teamwork – to support the small team and meet shift commitments.
- Flexibility to switch shifts, with rota planned three weeks in advance.
