We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Supervisor for our shop in Yardley. The role is a permanent full‑time position with a variety of shifts, 5 days a week.

Key Information

  • Hours: 35 hours per week, 5 days.
  • Pay: £13.61 per hour (minimum £476 per week).
  • Benefits: 6 weeks holiday, 15% staff discount, staff benefits package (virtual GP, cinema tickets, gym memberships, days out, travel discounts).

What the apprenticeship involves

  • Working in a busy shop and learning supervisory skills.
  • Regular pre‑arranged visits (every 10‑12 weeks) from an assessor of our apprenticeship provider, with additional reviews via webinar, telephone and video call.
  • Completion of apprenticeship coursework and functional skills in English and Maths (if required).
  • Assessment at the end of 12 months of training.
  • Attainment of a Level 3 Customer Service Specialist apprenticeship qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome all customers with a friendly smile and simple hello.
  • Assist customers in locating items and provide fast, friendly service at the tills.
  • Handle stock with care while working deliveries, placing products into freezers and on shelves.
  • Work with the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep the shop clean and tidy.
  • Open and close the shop, manage cash, place orders and support the manager in leading the team to run an efficient shop.

  • A friendly, positive, hardworking approach to work.
  • Enjoy being busy and able to handle a variety of tasks throughout the shift.
  • Must be reliable and an essential part of a small team.
  • Flexible approach to shift scheduling, including occasional adjustments to cover when colleagues are off.
  • Commitment to completing all work set by the apprenticeship provider on time and to a high standard.
  • Subject to a satisfactory Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check (Scotland).
  • Confirmation of previous or unspent convictions will be required via email.
