We are looking to recruit a Warehouse Chargehand at our distribution centre in Warrington. We offer a permanent full time position working shifts from 06:00 to 18:00 or 18:00 to 06:00.
Pay, working hours & benefits
- Hourly pay rate of £14.07 per hour for Days and £15.75 for Nights.
- 30 days annual leave.
- Regular breaks during your shift (plus additional warming breaks when picking in the cold store).

Responsibilities
- Utilising available resources to maximise efficiency in order to achieve and exceed KPIs.
- Plan, manage and adjust staffing levels to meet daily operational requirements within the warehouse.
- Provide a safe working environment by adhering to Site Health & Safety procedures.
- Ensure high levels of hygiene and housekeeping in the warehouse.
- Deliver team member performance reviews, development and/or succession planning as appropriate.
- Address any performance issues or training needs.
- Continuously monitor, review and act upon available operational reports ensuring quality and performance are never compromised.
- Manage new starters to receive comprehensive induction training and ensure team members are multi-skilled through planned training, coaching and development.
- Ensure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain a high level of customer focus and service.
- Conduct team briefings daily/weekly as required, discussing with the staff any issues which may cause concern within the working environment.
Qualifications
- A proven track record of cost savings, productivity costs, quality control and error reduction.
- Excellent team building, leadership and motivational skills.
- The ability to communicate in an open and honest manner with the team, transport & the customer.
- Demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm and flexibility to work various shift patterns.
- Experience of HR related activities; performance review, appraisal, disciplinary, grievance and good knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
- Monitor inbound or outbound Trunks to ensure SLAs are strictly adhered to.
