Retail Assistant – Part Time, Early Starts
We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop in Bodmin, Cornwall. This is a permanent part‑time position working a variety of shifts, with a minimum of 12 hours worked over 3 days each week, including weekends.
Note that you will need to be available for shifts starting early in the morning.
Pay & Benefits
- Hours: 12 hours across 3 days per week
- Pay: £10.95 per hour for ages 16‑20, £12.81 per hour for ages 21+

Responsibilities
- Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello.
- Help customers find the items they are looking for.
- Provide fast and friendly service at the tills, offering help to pack and leaving a good impression with a friendly thank you and goodbye.
- Handle stock with care whilst working deliveries, quickly placing products into freezers and onto shelves ready for customers.
- Work with the rest of the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep the shop safe, clean and tidy.
Requirements
- A friendly, positive, hard‑working approach to work.
- Enjoy being busy: you’ll jump from deliveries to till service, customer assistance, cleaning and stock rotation, etc.
- Reliability – you will be an important part of a small team and your colleagues and customers will depend upon you to do your best on each shift.
- Some flexibility with shifts; rota’s are planned three weeks in advance and commitments outside work will be considered when planning.
- Complete an Employment Verification check if successful and offered the advertised position.
