We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Supervisor for our shop in Pontypridd. This is a permanent full-time position working a variety of shifts, 35 hours per week across 5 days.
What does the apprenticeship involve?
- Working in a busy shop and learning how to be a great supervisor.
- Regular pre‑arranged visits from an assessor from our apprenticeship provider, conducted via Microsoft Teams video call.
- Regular completion of apprenticeship coursework.
- Completion of essential skills in Communication and Maths (if applicable).
- Completion of an assessment at the end of your 12 months of training.
Pay, working hours and benefits
- You will earn £13.61 per hour from day one and are guaranteed 35 hours per week, with a minimum weekly pay of £476.
- A Retail Skills (Management) Level 3 qualification.

As an Apprentice Supervisor you will:
- Make all our customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello.
- Help customers find the items they are looking for.
- Give fast and friendly service at the tills, offering help to pack and leaving a good impression with a friendly thank you and goodbye.
- Handle stock with care while working deliveries, quickly placing products into our freezers and onto our shelves.
- Work with the rest of your team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep our shops clean and tidy.
- Open and close the shop, handle cash, place orders and support your manager in leading the team to run an efficient shop and provide great service to our customers.
You will need:
- A friendly, positive, hardworking approach to work.
- To enjoy being busy as there is always something to do, jumping from delivering to serving on the till and organising other team members.
- Reliability, as you will be an important part of a small team, with colleagues and customers depending on you.
- A bit of flexibility with shifts; rotas are planned three weeks in advance and your commitments outside of work will be considered.
- To ensure that all work set by our apprenticeship provider is completed on time and to the best of your ability.
- To complete an Employment Verification check and a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check (Scotland) if successful and offered the advertised position.
