We are looking to recruit a new shop manager for our shop in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. This is a permanent full‑time position working a variety of shifts, 5 days per week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Please note that for full‑time positions we will require you to be fully flexible in your availability for work throughout the week, including weekends.

- Hours: 45 hours across 5 days per week
- Pay: £34,262.76 – £48,343.08 per annum on a 45‑hour contract

Responsibilities
- Lead by example and get involved with the day‑to‑day tasks of running a busy shop
- Motivate and inspire the team to run an efficient shop and deliver great service to customers
- Recruit, induct and develop your team through coaching, mentoring and feedback, building a pipeline of talent for the business
- Be fully accountable for the shop and ensure customers are well looked after, deliveries are processed quickly and shop routines are completed to maintain a safe, clean and tidy shop
- Control key shop costs including shrinkage, waste and payroll to achieve all KPI’s, reporting directly to the area manager
- Meet standards in relation to customer service, cash handling, health & safety, stock management, merchandising and presentation
Qualifications & Requirements
- A friendly, positive and hardworking approach to work
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate people in a busy and challenging environment
- A people person who builds strong working relationships with colleagues and customers
- Trustworthy and reliable; the team and customers depend upon you to perform your job to the best of your ability at all times
- Experience as a manager or assistant manager
- A full driving licence is desirable. If you don't have a driving licence, you are still welcome to apply.
- Complete an Employment Verification check and a Basic DBS (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check if successful and offered the position.
