We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. We offer a permanent 39‑hour full‑time position working a variety of shifts, 5 days a week. Please note that for full‑time positions we will require you to be fully flexible in your availability for work throughout the week, including weekends.
Pay & Benefits:
- Ages 16-20 = £10.95 per hour
- Ages 21+ = £12.81 per hour

Responsibilities:
- Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello
- Help customers find the items they are looking for
- Give a fast and friendly service at the tills, always offering help to pack and leaving a good impression with a friendly thank you and goodbye
- Handle stock with care whilst working deliveries, quickly placing products into our freezers and onto our shelves ready for customers to buy
- Work with the rest of the team to complete the daily and weekly routines that keep the shop safe, clean and tidy
Qualifications:
- A friendly, positive, hard‑working approach to work
- Enjoy being busy as there is always something to do – from putting out deliveries to serving on the till, helping customers on the shop floor, completing cleaning and stock rotation routines, and more
- Reliable, as an important part of a small team; colleagues and customers will depend on you to do your best on each shift and not let the team down
- A bit of flexibility when it comes to shifts – when other members of the team are off enjoying their holidays, you may need to work slightly different hours to cover for them. Rotas are planned three weeks in advance and outside commitments are considered when planning shifts
- Complete an Employment Verification check if successful and offered the advertised position; the check will be sent via email and confirm your previous employment history against HMRC records
