We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop in Colne, Lancashire. We offer a permanent part‑time position working a variety of shifts, with a minimum of 16 hours worked over 3 days per week, including weekends. Please note that this position will require you to be available for shifts on weekday evenings and all day on Saturday and Sunday. This position may not be suitable if you are not available to work at these times.

Pay & Benefits

  • Hours: 16 hours across 3 days per week
  • Pay: £10.95‑£12.81 per hour depending on age

The amount you will earn depends on your age:

  • Ages 16-20: £10.95 per hour
  • Ages 21+: £12.81 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and hello
  • Help customers find the items they are looking for
  • Give fast and friendly service at the tills, offer help to pack and leave a good impression with a friendly thank you and goodbye
  • Handle stock with care while working deliveries, quickly placing products into freezers and onto shelves ready for customers to buy
  • Work with your team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep the shop safe, clean and tidy

Qualifications

  • Friendly, positive, hard‑working approach to work
  • Enjoy being busy as there is always something to do, jumping from deliveries to serving at the till, helping customers, completing cleaning and stock rotation routines, etc.
  • Reliable, as you will be an important part of a small team; colleagues and customers will depend on you to do your best on each shift and not let the team down
  • Flexibility with your shifts; Rota planned three weeks in advance and your commitments will be considered when planning shifts
  • Completed Employment Verification check if successful and offered the advertised position
