Agriconnect is a part of the Arc network. Arc is a B2B events, data, and media platform, backed by investment funds managed by EagleTree Capital. Arc has over 350 talented colleagues located in the U.S, U.K, Netherlands, and Singapore who focus on seeking out new ways to connect communities, wherever, whenever, or however people need to come together to grow their businesses.

Farmers Guardian is seeking an experienced and highly organised digital content editor to spearhead the continued growth and expansion of the brand across all digital platforms. As a genuine self-starter, you’ll be working with a talented team of in-market journalists, owning everything from content planning to optimisation in order to drive digital engagement. You’ll be obsessed with data, using it to drive decision making and the direction and volume of output in a fast evolving digital landscape, as well reporting back on performance and audience behaviour in detail. Alongside this, you’ll be using your leadership skills to sell your vision to the editorial team and bring the journalists on the journey with you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Content Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement a content strategy that aligns with the business’s goals across all digital platforms, focusing on topics relevant to the agriculture industry and keeping on top of trends.
  • Content Editing: Edit and optimise articles, blog posts, newsletters and other digital content. Ensure all content is accurate, engaging and aligned with SEO/GEO best practices.
  • Content Calendar Management: Develop and maintain a content calendar, coordinating with writers, photographers, videographers, and other contributors to ensure timely delivery of content. You’ll set plans for web output, social media output, podcasts and webinars.
  • Audience Engagement: Monitor and analyse audience engagement metrics, making adjustments to the content strategy based on performance data. Implement techniques to improve user interaction and help to drive paid digital memberships.
  • SEO/GEO & Keyword Optimisation: Use SEO/GEO tools to research keywords, optimise on-page elements, and develop strategies to improve engagement.
  • Industry Monitoring: Stay up-to-date on agriculture industry trends, emerging issues, and digital media innovations to ensure content remains relevant and engaging.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience: Proven experience in digital content editing, strong news judgement and the ability to identify topics that resonate with digital audiences. Experience preferred within the agriculture, environmental, or related industry, but this is not a deal-breaker.
  • Digital Proficiency: Strong knowledge of content management systems, SEO tools and social media platforms.
  • Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills; strong attention to detail; and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyse content performance metrics and adapt strategies to optimise engagement.
  • Project Management: Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and people simultaneously.
  • Creativity: Proven ability to innovate and experiment with ideas that will appeal to our target audience and differentiate us in the market. Willingness to implement AI to add value to the business.
  • Teamwork: A strong collaborative spirit to motivate and direct a nationally dispersed team.

We also offer a range of benefits including:

  • 25 days annual leave increasing to 27 after two years
  • An extra day off on your birthday
  • Matched pension contributions up to 6%
  • Employee Life Assurance x4 basic annual salary
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Employee Discount site

As an equal opportunity employer we hire, develop and retain the best people regardless of their social background, age, sex, ethnicity, religion/belief or disability, and to make use of their talents. We value everyone as an individual. We recognise that everyone is different and have created a work environment where we treat everyone fairly and in a consistent way and promote a culture of respect and dignity, to create a company that’s the right fit for every person inside of it. We are excited by the incredible potential of AI and the innovative ways it can enhance the way we work. However, in our hiring process, we aim to get to know you. To stand out to our hiring managers, we encourage you to let your personality shine through, rather than relying on an AI-generated application. You are welcome to use AI as a writing assistant to help structure and articulate your thoughts. Please do not use it to generate fictional skills or experiences. Using AI responsibly can support your application, but your application must ultimately represent you.
