We wish to appoint an energetic, enthusiastic and inspiring Head of Business Studies & Economics to lead our thriving, growing department. The successful candidate will be well-qualified, experienced, and have a genuine passion for Business and Economics.
Farlington has offered Business Studies at A Level for many years but introduced the subject at GCSE a couple of years ago, and Economics at A Level was also introduced recently. This summer the school will have candidates examined for both GCSE Business and A Level Economics.
We are seeking a candidate who can build on this exciting expansion and grow the department both within and outside of the classroom, stepping into a well-organised and well-led department.
Farlington is a co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 6 months to 18, set in 33 acres of beautiful Sussex countryside. The school enjoys a strong reputation for its academic excellence and welcoming community. With class sizes of no more than 20, the successful candidate will have a direct impact on each student in every lesson, and a commitment to our thriving co-curricular programme outside the classroom is essential.
As part of the Bellevue Education group of schools, there are excellent opportunities for ongoing professional development and further collaboration between schools within the group.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage all academic curricula for Business Studies and Economics.
- Coordinate co-curricular events and competitions, ensuring breadth, ambition and scope.
- Teach GCSE and A Level across the school and share teaching with other disciplines.
- Collaborate with other disciplines across the school.
- Develop and expand the department as the school continues to grow.
