Head of Mathematics

Overview

We are looking for an inspiring and ambitious individual to become the next Head of Mathematics at Farlingaye. This is a full-time, permanent post starting in January 2025.

You will be taking on a thriving department with a team of skilled and dedicated teachers, all committed to delivering high-quality teaching and excellent outcomes for our students. The department is ripe for a dynamic leader to take it forward, building on its strong foundations to embrace new ideas and drive further innovation.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across all key stages, shaping the curriculum, championing creative and effective approaches to teaching and learning, and relentlessly driving up standards and outcomes for every student.
• Be an outstanding classroom practitioner and a supportive leader, able to inspire, mentor and develop colleagues while forging strong partnerships within and beyond Farlingaye.
• Lead by example to raise aspirations and outcomes across the department and help ensure every student has the chance to excel in Mathematics and beyond.

You can be assured of excellent support. You will benefit from strong guidance from your line manager, with regular meetings to help you lead the department effectively. You will join our middle leadership team, where you will work with supportive colleagues from other faculties to maintain and enhance high standards.
