Nelsons is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Worker to join their dedicated in‑house Facilities Team based in Nottingham. While the role is primarily Nottingham‑based, you will also attend our Derby office once a week and our Leicester office at least once a month. You will play a vital part in ensuring all three locations are maintained to an exceptional standard and remain safe, welcoming environments for our colleagues and clients.
We are ideally looking for someone with at least three years’ experience in general maintenance within a commercial office setting. Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out regular scheduled maintenance of the building’s assets
- Performing minor reactive repairs, including basic electrical, plumbing, and decorating tasks
- Experience operating a Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP)
- Ability to write and review Risk and Method Statements
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems
- High‑quality painting and decorating skills
- Electrical knowledge (e.g., 18th Edition BS7671)
Requirements:
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Practical experience and a proactive, hands‑on approach
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the confidence to tackle day‑to‑day issues
- A positive, hardworking attitude and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to the wider team
