Overview
Commercial Executive role at Farleys Solicitors LLP. Farleys is a leading North West law firm now partnered with Lawfront, delivering expert legal advice with a down-to-earth approach. This hybrid role is based in our East Lancashire office and involves working directly with the Partner who heads Insolvency and Commercial Litigation on high-value, complex matters.
This is a hybrid role suitable for someone who thrives on variety and wants to build a career in two of the most diverse and challenging areas of law.
Responsibilities
- Administrative Work: forward-planning diaries, drafting briefing packs, action tracking and ensuring the department runs efficiently. Travel and event management, marketing support and compliance including conflict checking, KYC engagement, drafting engagement letters, and handling day-to-day client communications.
- Fee-earning Work: managing pre-action correspondence and strategy, protocol letters, case chronologies and summaries, pleadings, initial disclosure and Court filings, drafting interlocutory applications and other orders, preparing for and attending CCMCs, cost budgeting, expert instructions and review, disclosure, document review, ADR and trial prep. Exposure to the full spectrum of litigating matters, particularly in the Business & Property Courts.

Insolvency
You’ll support cases involving both corporate and personal insolvency, such as:
- Corporate Insolvency
- Antecedent Transaction Claims
- Director Liability
- Personal Insolvency
- Asset Recovery
- Court Applications
This area often demands swift action and a strong grasp of financial and legal strategy. You’ll help prepare documents, liaise with insolvency practitioners, and manage urgent communications.
