Farleigh Hospice is a high-performing organisation providing specialist palliative and end-of-life care for people with life-limiting illnesses across Mid Essex. As our retail team continues to grow and evolve to meet the changing needs of our community, we are looking for a highly motivated Retail Assistant Manager to join our Maldon clearance shop and donation centre.
To succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- The ability to recruit, train and motivate volunteers
- Excellent customer service skills
- A sales-focused approach and strong commercial awareness
- Confidence in visual merchandising and shop-floor presentation
- Experience of sorting and pricing donations and rotating stock
- Cash-handling, banking and basic financial management skills
- The ability to organise and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- A confident, solutions-focused approach to decision‑making
- The drive to meet sales and Gift Aid targets
- Awareness of health and safety, safeguarding and security
- Good IT and administrative skills
- Flexibility, resilience and a willingness to work weekends
- A genuine commitment to the charity’s values and the local community
