ROLE
Our annual Cycle for Life event will take place on Sunday 7th September 2025 with cyclists completing either a 20km, 50km or 100km cycle. They are scenic routes through the Essex countryside, starting and finishing from Farleigh Hospice, North Court Road.
We are looking for volunteers to support with this event and the role can include one or more of the following activities:
* Setting up and welcoming cyclists at the start point
* Marshalling at the car park and directing to the start point
* Marshalling along the route to keep cyclists safe and encourage them
* Supporting cyclists at a water stop along the route
* Giving out medals and helping with refreshments at the finish line
* Packing away the event after the finish
You can choose the options best suited to you when you complete the registration form.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
To succeed in this role you must be enthusiastic, friendly and happy to chat to supporters and help make them feel valued.
If you are marshalling along the route you must be willing and able to travel to your allocated point independently. Please be aware this may be a remote spot in the countryside but you will always work in pairs in this case.
You must be willing to work to Farleigh Hospice values (we are caring, respectful, dedicated and innovative).

Simply fill in our brief volunteer registration formspecifying which areas you would like to help with, no later than 18th August.
The Fundraising team will then be in touch to allocate roles and confirm timings for the day approximately 2 weeks before the event.
