We areseekingan enthusiastic and relationship-focused Compassionate Communities Coordinator to lead and support the development of Compassionate Communities across Chelmsford and Maldon. This exciting role will play a vital part in helping local people, organisations and communities work together to improve wellbeing, strengthenresilienceand reduce loneliness.

Funded by Essex County Council, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting difference across Mid Essex while helping to shape a growing and innovative programme.

About the Role

As the Compassionate Communities Coordinator, you will support the implementation,coordinationand evaluation of Compassionate Communities activity across Chelmsford and Maldon.

Working as part of Farleigh Hospice's Wellbeing Services Team, you will engage withlocal residents, businesses, charities, schools, faith groups, communityleadersand volunteers to build stronger networks of support and encourage community-led approaches to wellbeing and social connectedness.

You will play a key role in helping communities become more confident in supporting people affected by serious illness, caring responsibilities,bereavementand end-of-life experiences.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Developing and supporting local Compassionate Communities initiatives

  • Building strong relationships with community groups, charities, businesses, schools,collegesand faith organisations

  • Organising andfacilitatingworkshops,eventsand community engagement activities

  • Promoting conversations around caring, grief, loss, death and dying in sensitive and accessible ways

  • Supporting organisations to increase confidence and understanding around bereavement and end-of-life experiences

  • Encouraging partnership working and collaborative community solutions

  • Supporting the delivery and reporting of the Essex County Council funded programme

  • Gathering evidence, casestudiesand data todemonstrateimpact and outcomes

  • Sharing learning and best practice across Mid Essex and the wider Compassionate Communities network

About You

We'relooking for someone who is passionate about people, communities and making a positive difference.

You will have experience in community engagement, volunteering, community development or partnership working, alongside excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

You'llbe confident working independently, comfortable engaging with diverse groups of people, and motivated to help communities become more connected,resilientand compassionate.
