We are a creative team, building copy, data and visual assets for all our channels. We are dedicated to providing gold standard imagery, content and production services for our partners and creating an engaging on-site experience for our customers.

LONDON

Our London office is located in Old Street, London’s tech hub, and is home to a broad range of teams including Commercial, Marketing, and Product. Our open plan space is ideal for collaborative working and sharing ideas, or you can enjoy some quiet time in our dedicated library. We also have a large outdoor terrace which is the perfect spot to have a team lunch or host events.

THE ROLE

As a Translator (Product Information) for Swedish, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring FARFETCH’s product catalogue and all related materials resonate with local audiences. Reporting directly to the LangOps & Development team, your primary responsibility will be localising diverse content types with a strong focus on product information, including materials, compositions, and size & fit details. Additionally, you will manage translation workflows, translation memories, and terminology databases to ensure quality and consistency across all platforms. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of FARFETCH’s localisation processes, ensuring a seamless customer experience while maintaining our distinctive tone of voice.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Translate and localise product information, including detailed descriptions of materials, fabric compositions, and size & fit elements, ensuring clarity and accuracy for local audiences;
  • Localise and adapt FARFETCH’s product catalogue and associated content, tailoring the language to meet the cultural nuances and preferences of the target audience;
  • Manage translation workflows, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet the highest quality standards;
  • Manage and maintain translation memories and terminology databases, ensuring consistency across all translated materials and optimising reuse of existing translations;
  • Review and clean up outdated or inaccurate copy, ensuring the product catalogue remains up-to-date, accurate, and aligned with luxury fashion standards;
  • Participate in company-wide initiatives to improve and optimise translation processes, content quality, and workflows for the product catalogue;
  • Ensure consistency in language and tone of voice across all channels, including website content, product descriptions, marketing campaigns, emails, and social media;
  • Collaborate with the larger multilingual team to align on best practices for localisation and maintain high-quality standards;
  • Utilise and contribute to the development of cutting-edge localisation tools and technology to streamline processes and improve accuracy;
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance the quality and efficiency of the translation process.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Language Expert: Native-level fluency in Swedish, with exceptional written and verbal skills;
  • Luxury E-commerce Experience: Proven experience in writing, translating, and localising content for luxury or high-end e-commerce brands. Experience in translating technical product details such as fabric compositions, material properties, and size & fit elements is highly desired;
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Ability to craft compelling, customer-centric content that engages and appeals to the tastes and preferences of local audiences;
  • Process-Oriented: Experience in managing translation workflows, using translation memories, and maintaining terminology databases to ensure content consistency and quality;
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: A proactive approach to improving the translation process, identifying outdated or inconsistent content, and actively participating in optimisation initiatives across departments;
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with localisation and translation tools (e.g. TMS, Machine Translation, etc.) is required. Experience working with SEO optimisation and e-commerce platforms like Shopify, Magento, or similar is a plus;
  • Collaborative Mindset: A strong team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. You’re open to learning and excited about the opportunity to collaborate with different departments across FARFETCH;
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy, especially when translating specific product details like materials and size & fit, with a strong ability to manage multiple projects and maintain quality under tight deadlines.
