THE ROLE

The Head of Business Development is responsible for leading business development across Brands and Boutiques for the EMEA region, with dotted line accountability from Americas and APAC regions. The Head of BD will own the pipeline of brand and boutique signings and be responsible for setting targets and driving the team to deliver against new business opportunities. Concurrently, the Head of BD will also oversee expansions and terminations within the existing partner portfolio. The role will require thought leadership on new commercial & operational models that best fit partner needs and reflect changes in the competitive landscape; a strong and detailed grasp on the specifics of FARFETCH’s legal and financial setup; and close collaboration with Integrations (PI) on partner technical needs, and Merchandising on pipeline prioritisation. Finally, the Head of BD should also oversee the transition from new partner signing into ongoing partner management once handed over to Brand Management, Account Management, and Partner Success/Service teams.

WHAT'LL YOU DO

  • You will lead a team of Boutique and Brand Business Development executives and managers, and a team analyst.
  • You will own the EMEA Brand and Boutique pipeline, set quarterly targets (against which compensation/bonus targets are set) and deliver against them; within the total pipeline you will also have your own target accounts to sign.
  • You will liaise with Americas and APAC BD to ensure consistency in ways-of-working and targets’ alignment.
  • You will oversee all compliance and SOX topics managed by team analyst.
  • You will lead on the oversight and execution of commercial deals brought by Account Managers, working with Commercial Analytics and Finance to push forward productive deals that unlock stock for FARFETCH to offset any Gross Profit erosion.
  • You will own the “BD Challenge” across cross-Commercial teams, outsourcing upper-funnel Lead validation to Brand Management and Account Management for handover of warm Leads to BD for signing.
  • You will own the roll-out of the Bid-Ask commercial model, including regional expansion.
  • You will support on the expansion of the Sold By FARFETCH programme to markets where it is not yet available.
  • You will support Partner Implementation with their “5 minutes to online” programme, communicating partner needs and sharing external best-practices with internal teams to help FARFETCH develop an industry-leading launch toolkit.
  • You will be a senior representative of FARFETCH in new business acquisition, ensuring top-notch output and presentation reflective of FARFETCH’s luxury positioning.
  • You will be the lead contact for EMEA Brands & Boutiques BD topics, responsible for escalation to Executive level.
