THE ROLE: We are looking for an Assistant Buyer to work within the Buying department at Browns. The Assistant Buyer will support the team to deliver strategic execution of the buying strategy, driving performance and contributing to growth across the category.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Assist the Buyer in developing the department strategy, identifying key opportunities and tactical plans to deliver on growth targets.
- Proactively research and seek out new designers, proposing brand suggestions to the Buyers, helping Browns to assert itself as an incubator for emerging designers with a real point of difference.
- Maintain strong relationships and continuous contact with suppliers, negotiating with confidence to ensure a positive stock and trading position.
- Work collaboratively with the wider business, inclusive of Merchandising, Brand Engagement and Retail, in order to contribute to the business's commercial performance.
- Analyse sales performance and monitor sell-throughs, proposing and executing trading actions in order to improve sales performance and reduce risk to the business.
- Manage the reorder process, confidently analysing stock cover to maximise trading opportunities in-season.
- Be responsible for all department scheduling, liaising with vendors and the wider team to ensure efficiency and cost reduction.
- Manage the Order Tracker during market (chasing selections, typing up orders, flagging deadlines, communicating with brands and checking re-caps).
- Maintain Vendor Terms document.
- Monitor the website on a regular basis, flagging discrepancies and maintaining internal attribution via Buy Report.
- Generate Vendor Packs for all buying meetings, and share weekly ST reports with brands.
- Support the merchandising team on management of range plans, ensuring data integrity is of the highest level and all opportunities are captured.
- Support the Buyer in delivering impactful seasonal trend presentation via buy report attribution.
- Support the Admin function when escalations are made.
