THE ROLE
As a Freelance Content Writer for Japanese, your core responsibilities will include localising Brand & Marketing copy, UX content, Operational materials, and B2B communications. You will ensure all content is culturally relevant and engaging, while remaining true to the FARFETCH voice – maintaining consistency in tone, style, and terminology across all channels.
You\’ll work closely with the Japanese LangOps team to ensure your localised copy is delivered and published on time. Flexibility, resilience, and a collaborative mindset are essential for success in this freelance role. Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is highly valued.
WHAT YOU\’LL DO
- Localise and adapt Brand & Marketing copy and B2B materials to ensure they resonate with local audiences while maintaining FARFETCH\’s distinct tone of voice;
- Translate and adapt UX copy to create a seamless, intuitive, and culturally relevant customer experience;
- Deliver end-to-end localisation service, including content translation from English to Japanese and CMS upload, ensuring timely and accurate delivery within set deadlines;
- Maintain proactive communication with internal teams, and the LangOps Lead to ensure alignment, clarity, and timely progress updates;
- Adapt quickly to changing project requirements and priorities, maintaining quality and consistency.
WHO YOU ARE
- Language Expert: Native-level fluency in Japanese, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
- Brand & Marketing Experience: Proven experience in localising brand, marketing, and B2B copy, with a strong understanding of how to engage and connect with audiences through compelling and culturally relevant content;
- UX Localisation Expertise: A solid background in UX localisation, understanding how to adapt content to create an intuitive and seamless user experience for local markets is desired;
- Collaborative & Detail-Oriented: A linguist who values collaboration and brings a meticulous eye for detail, along with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, culturally relevant content.
