FareShare Sussex & Surrey
About FareShare Sussex & Surrey
FareShare Sussex & Surrey is a vital charity dedicated to tackling food waste and food poverty across the regions of Sussex and Surrey. Our mission is to redistribute surplus food from businesses to local charities and community groups, ensuring that no good food goes to waste while helping those in need.
We work closely with a network of food suppliers, including supermarkets, wholesalers, and local producers, to collect surplus food that would otherwise be discarded. This food is then sorted and distributed to over 200 local charities, food banks, and community projects, providing meals for vulnerable individuals and families.
At FareShare Sussex & Surrey, we believe in the power of community. We engage volunteers from all walks of life, offering them the opportunity to make a difference while gaining valuable skills and experience. Our team is passionate about creating a sustainable future where everyone has access to nutritious food.
In addition to food redistribution, we also focus on raising awareness about food waste and its impact on the environment. Through educational programs and workshops, we aim to inspire individuals and businesses to adopt more sustainable practices.
Our vision is a society where no one goes hungry, and we are committed to making this a reality through our innovative approach to food distribution and community engagement.
