Fareham Creek Veterinary Surgery is a thriving and proudly independent small animal practice on the South Coast. We are a long established, friendly and client focused practice setting high standards of care for our patients. The surgery is an RCVS accredited General Practice and nurse training practice.

Our staff retention is very high at the practice, many of our staff having worked for us for many years. Currently, our team consists of 3.5 full time equivalent vets, 5 RVNs, 1 animal nursing assistant, an experienced team of receptionists and our cleaner. The practice has a good support network from colleagues and support staff.

We are looking for a vet who prides themselves on teamwork, high standards of care but who enjoys an open, inclusive and jovial working environment. CPD is encouraged and funded. There is no on call.

Full time hours are 37.5 hours per week, plus 1 in 4 Saturday mornings, but a flexible working pattern for any prospective candidate will be considered. Candidates from any background and with any amount of experience who are looking for full or part time work are welcome to apply. Members of our team have over 20-30 years experience. Support and advice is always available from any one of these vets. We are an RCVS Approved Graduate Development Practice.

The role is in a practice where they have autonomy working with a genuinely good bunch of people. The practice has all the usual diagnostic tools, DR radiography and DR dental radiography, ultrasound, endoscopes, blood and faecal machines, microscopy.

Whilst no two days are alike, a typical day has two vets consulting 8.30-10.15. These vets then operate until all is done, have lunch and a break until consults start again 3-5pm or 4-6pm. Another vet starts operating first thing, then consults from 10.30-12.15, lunch then starts again 1.30 and finishes at 3.30. A lunch break is factored into the day along with ample time for admin.
