Duties:
- Delivery of one-to-one and small group support, both in and out of class, in collaboration with a wide range of different teaching and learning support professionals.
- To support students in line with their individual needs and/or Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP)
- To assist with student related administrative e.g. regularly updating student plans in line with their SEN needs/ EHCP
- To assist students to take full part in learning activities in equal terms with other students on programme
- To support the teachers in promoting the behaviour that is required to maintain a positive and productive learning environment
- To ensure the support provided is effective in meeting the needs of students and will lead to successful outcomes and progression
- Contribute to the development of the Learning Support team by attending staff meetings and in service training as appropriate
- To be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young and vulnerable adults
- To become familiar with the use of SEN specialist equipment for the benefit of the student
- To complete relevant records and perform administrative duties relating to students with additional support needs
Skills/experience:
- You will have experience or the potential to become an outstanding learning support assistant.
- Experience of supporting individuals to achieve their goals.
- Well organised and hold an excellent range of communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft IT packages.
Qualifications:
- Minimum GCSE grade 4 / C in English & Maths or equivalent.
- Level 2 NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent desirable.
