We are seeking a highly passionate and motivated Teacher of Geography within our Humanities Department. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the capacity to lead, inspire and develop students and staff across all Key Stages.
Through geography, our students unlock their individual potential while learning to value and care for the planet and all its inhabitants. Geography is a subject which builds on our young people's own experiences, helping them to formulate questions and develop their intellectual and literacy skills while finding answers to issues affecting their lives. Geography is a tool used to bridge curriculum gaps from scientific processes, mathematical skills, and writing creativity.
Geography helps us investigate and think critically and creatively about the complexities of places and different views and feelings relating to places. Fieldwork and outdoor education are essential to geography, helping develop significant skills with a strong emphasis on utilising maps and visual images. These transferable geographical skills help equip our students for lifelong learning as responsible global citizens.
We are looking for a forward‑thinking Teacher to join our existing teaching team and continually enhance the quality of learning and achievement. It is the aim of the team to get students to reach the highest possible standard they can achieve, ensuring they are well prepared for both internal and external examinations, higher education and the world of work.
We would welcome applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs). Fareham Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, online checks and where applicable a prohibition from teaching check will be completed for all applicants.
