The site employs over 1,800 people.About the role.We have a fantastic opportunity for a Staff Shop Assistant to join the busy, active and customer facing staff shop team. You will assistant with the day-to-day operations of the Staff ShopDisplaying stock in an organised and presentable manner.Ensuring the shop is kept clean, tidy, and safe from any hazards.Ensuring stock is correctly date rotated.Manning the till and processing transactions.Disposal of any out-of-date product.Report all maintenance, or health and safety, issues regarding the shop to management immediately.Check goods received against delivery note, countersigning as appropriate.Completion of all required paperwork relevant to Staff Shop.Working with the team and providing a handover to the next colleague.Taking temperature on product intake, both hot and chilled deliveries.About you.Excellent customer service skills – Acting in a friendly and professional manner when dealing with customers, staff and external suppliers.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work on own initiative.Good organisation skills.Reliable, punctual, and dependable.Flexibility and willingness to cover different shifts when required.Ability to lift and move heavy and/or large deliveries efficiently and safely.Basic till operation skills (full training will be given).Previous shop or retail experience is desirable.Experience working in a fast-paced environment.In return, we’ll offer you the encouragement, support and opportunity to develop your career and take it as far as you can, or as far as you want to go, within our large multinational company.Proud to be Bakkavor.We’re proud to be the market leader in the UK fresh prepared food industry.
