What we do:
This particular role is based at our Boness site, which employs over 1,000 people and produces food-to-go salads and salad accompaniments to a number of customers. It is located 3.5 miles from Linlithgow and 8 miles to Falkirk.
About the role:
We manufacture a wide range of high-quality fresh prepared food. And, although our production lines are fast-paced and high-pressured, our cleaning schedule means that the lines will always stop completely for you to clean them.
A typical day of a Hygiene Team Leader involves supervising a small team of Hygiene Operatives within your area of control to ensure all duties are completed in line with Company policies and standard operating procedures, including PPE, Food Safety, Health and Safety, ‘clean as you go’ and ‘Good Manufacturing Practices’. You will support the management of the Hygiene team to ensure cleaning methods, standards & documentation is completed to the highest required standard, as well as managing your team’s breaks.
In addition to this, you will also oversee the training needs of the team and ensure training requirements are met on time and reviewed, and be encouraged to proactively seek improvements to current hygiene practices and procedures.
Hygiene Team Leader - Evenings duties may include:
- Ensure that team members are wearing correct PPE
- Allocation of hygiene tasks based on individual skill sets for direct reports
- Complete relevant paperwork
- Ensure that team is working safely and in accordance with SOP standards
- Report deviations from acceptable standards during shift handovers
- Monitor day to day performance and escalate performance concerns to correct individuals
- Identify resource requirements and escalate to Hygiene Managers
- Communicate hygiene activity progress and results to Hygiene Managers
Supporting the management of the Hygiene team can be complicated and physically challenging, especially with audit requirements and customer expectations to exceed as our hygiene team is essential for Greencore to maintain expected standards of our products, and hit audit scores in line with customer expectations.
About you:
- Previous experience in Hygiene, within a manufacturing environment, is essential for this role
- Previous Team Leading or Supervisory experience is also essential
- Be able to pass minimum entry level English requirements
- Ability to undertake Food safety qualification
- Be able to adhere to Health & Safety Requirements
- Flexible approach to work and hours
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to problem solve
- Good PC skills
- Fit and able to carry out duties in line with OH requirements
