About the role:
We manufacture a wide range of high-quality fresh prepared food. And, although our production lines are fast-paced and high-pressured, our cleaning schedule means that the lines will always stop completely for you to clean them.
A typical day of a Skilled Hygiene Operative involves working in a small team, or on your own, following a clear cleaning schedule for our production lines, whether that be a full deep clean with chemicals and taking equipment apart, or routine regular cleans.
The role will require you to record completion of cleaning activities and ensure due diligence, with all manufacturing areas maintained to the highest standards. Always ensuring these duties are completed in line with Company policies and standard operating procedures, including PPE, Food Safety, Health and Safety, ‘clean as you go’ and ‘Good Manufacturing Practices’.
Skilled Hygiene Operative - Days duties may include:
- Disassembling complex machinery such as food formers, automatic tray washers, turbo machines, kipko’s
- Cleaning parts of the machinery
- Assessing parts for damage
- Assessing seals for damage
- Re-assembling machinery
It can be complicated and physically challenging stuff. Especially with audit requirements and customer expectations to exceed as our hygiene team is essential for Greencore to maintain expected standards of our products and hit audit scores in line with customer expectations.
About you:
- You will have previous hygiene experience
- Already have an understanding or be willing to learn the principles and application of Food Safety
- Have a proactive approach to Food Safety
- Be comfortable wearing personal protective equipment and working in a factory environment with cleaning chemicals
- A keen eye for detail and a good level of understanding English and Maths
- Fit and able to carry out duties in line with OH requirements
